Labor must release secret marine rescue review

The state's boating community is calling for transparency following media reports today detailing findings of the long-awaited secret Blue Water Review into Queensland marine rescue operations.

Liberal National Party Shadow Minister for Emergency Services Lachlan Millar called on Labor Minister Craig Crawford to publicly release the secret review.

"Queensland's volunteer marine rescuers are doing their best to protect the communities they serve, and they deserve to know what is in the Blue Water Review," Mr Millar said.

"It's time for Minister Crawford to release the full report and end the uncertainty around the future of marine rescue in Queensland.

"This Labor Government continues to keep completed reports under lock and key and away from scrutiny.

"We saw the same disingenuous behaviour with the Coaldrake review into Queensland agricultural colleges - which ultimately resulted in the defunding and closure of the colleges.

"This contempt for Queenslanders needs to stop now.

"Stop the secrecy and release the report."
