Last Chance for an Early Christmas Present

Community clubs seeking to upgrade their facilities can apply for grants of up to $35,000 with applications for the last Round of the Community Benefit Gambling Fund for 2015 now open.

“The Grant recipients are selected by an independent committee but the Attorney-General has asked that special consideration be given to applicants from localities suffering from natural disaster and those applicants who can point to tangible benefits from their projects,” said Member for Gregory, Lachlan Millar.

“With the ongoing drought and the mining downturn both impacting Gregory, I believe applicants will fulfil these criteria. I am delighted to provide a reference for any genuine applicant and hope that we might receive a few early Christmas presents,” he said.

Mr Millar said Gregory clubs had received over $700,000 in Rounds 84 and 85 with successful applicants in Round 86 still to be announced.

“Applications for the current round close on November 30. People wanting information can contact my office or visit the webpage at www.justice.qld.gov.au,” he said.
