AGRICULTURAL COLLEGES

Mr MILLAR  (Gregory—LNP) (2:06 pm): I rise to again talk about the closure of the Emerald Agricultural College and the Longreach Pastoral College.

Last week saw the sale of the Emerald Agricultural College's beef property Berrigurra for $32.5 million.

I ask members to think about that for a minute because the communities of Emerald and Longreach have been led down the garden path and treated like fools by the Labor government selling these assets that will never be able to be brought back together for the purpose of agricultural skills training.

WORKERS COMPENSATION AND REHABILITATION AND OTHER LEGISLATION AMENDMENT BILL

Mr MILLAR  (Gregory—LNP) (3:14 PM): I rise to speak in support of this bill, which will essentially create a special category of workers compensation for first responders suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder due to trauma exposure suffered in the course of their work duties.

MOTION OF CONDOLENCE

Mr MILLAR  (Gregory—LNP) (11:57 am): It is with great sadness that I rise to speak to the condolence motion to mark the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh.

 

People all over the world are sharing sadness at this event, both for the loss of the man and for the loss of Her Majesty's partner for more than 70 years.

LIQUOR (ARTISAN LIQUOR) AMENDMENT BILL 2020

Mr MILLAR  (Gregory—LNP) (12:45 pm): I rise to speak in support of this bill which will be warmly welcomed by Queensland’s independent brewers and Queenslanders generally.

As other speakers have pointed out, the bill comes in response to the growth of craft breweries and artisanal distilling across Australia.
